Are People Thinking About God?

It is interesting what people say when I ask about their faith. Last week on the sidewalk I asked a 30-something man who paused and took a pamphlet from me, “Do you believe in God?”

He responded, “Half the time.”

That means he is thinking about God. Most people do, even though they don’t talk about it or go to church. They are thinking about ultimate reality. Or they are thinking about God despite their best efforts not to think about him.

Either way, you can help them. You can ask others, “Do you ever think about spiritual things?” You can bear witness to the resurrection, simply saying, “God raised Jesus from the dead. In a world of death and evil, the only hope is the Son of God.”
